Daniel Lyons was born back in the days when electro
sounds dominated the charts, Fraggle Rock was just taking off and Darth Vadar was telling Luke all about who his father
really was!!
Born into a family of entertainers, Daniel first began performing on stage at the age of 8, not as
a magician but as a budding young actor. He stayed on stage until he reached his early twenty's performing in everything
from A Mid-summers Night Dream to The Cabbage King. He also popped up in the ITV1 series Crown and Country.
He last appeared in his actor guise in 2006 for The Bournemouth Little Theatre Company's The Heiress.
After
realising that Steven Spielberg was not going to give him a call, he felt he needed a new challenge, a new audience.
It was whilst working in a bar one night he chanced upon a magician who impressed him with amazing feats of magic with
no more than a deck of cards and a few rubber bands. Daniel was hooked. He was so impressed with the reactions from others
watching the magician perform he asked if he would be good enough to show him a few "tricks".
From there
on Mr Lyons set about learning his new art and spent many, many, many YEARS learning it!
Once comfortable
with his new found magical abilities he began performing to friends and family, and soon started cheering up some
old folks in a care home. Before long he landed his first paid job in a restaurant in Poole, Dorset. The restaurant
work gave Daniel the platform to show people his skills as a magician and soon the work came flooding in, weddings, party's,
shop openings and corporate work.
In the last couple of years Daniel has performed for some big brand names,
small family run businesses and has also been to more weddings than he can count. And 2009 committed himself full
time to performing as Close-Up Magician and has not looked back since.
A natural born entertainer, Daniel will
leave you laughing, clapping, cheering and amazed, but most of all.... Entertained!
